Perfect Outdoor Wedding Venue in Fort William

Our wedding day could not have gone any more perfect. It turned out exactly as we had envisioned it, all thanks to Tim and Wendy Sims, our wonderful hosts who provided exceptional accommodation for our guests and allowing us use of their stunning grounds for both our ceremony and reception venue. We could not have asked for a more scenic location for both. The Lochan, within the forest where we had our ceremony, was the perfect spot for allowing us to capture exquisite photo opportunities for our desired outdoor themed highland wedding. The entrance to the grounds where the Lochan is situated, has a perfect natural aisle leading up to it which worked perfectly for our piper to lead in the bridal party. Having our ceremony take place here was also such a unique experience for our friends and family who have all remarked such positive comments on its setting. The atmosphere is just magical. There were so many photo opportunities, that our couple shots took over an hour! Just beautiful. Following the ceremony, we had our reception in a marquee back at the main Estate. Again, the scenery at Achaderry is second to none and provided us with the most incredible back drop. We had a marquee with clear sides/windows so guests could admire the views at all times. The backdrop is of the Grey Corries and back Corries of Aonach Mor. Again, no less than ideal for the perfect Highland wedding theme! Tim and Wendy could not have been more accommodating. They are both unbelivably kindhearted people, extremely helpful and nothing was too big an ask. They also showed such interest in our day which we both greatly appreciated. They actually made us feel like part of the family! And we will never forget that. Our day could not have been what it was without them. There is ample and varied accommodation on site including both quaint wood cabins and beautiful farmhouses which allowed us to accommodate for the majority of family travelling from afar. In addition, due to Achaderry’s situation, it allowed for these guests a unique experience in terms of their stay alone with its mountainous surroundings and wildlife, offering a tranquil escape. Thank you so much Tim and Wendy for having us, for being so kind and so engaging with our guests who all had the most incredible stay, who will vouch for our wedding being “one of the best and most memorable they have ever been to”.
