Welcome to Achaderry Estate Self-Catering Accommodation in the Highlands of Scotland.

The Achaderry Estate in Roy Bridge near Fort William  was for many years (until recently) home of Peter Hope 4th Baron Lord Rankeillour of Buxted and now owned and run by the Sims family. They said; “We fell in love with the estate as soon as we approached it one day. The spectacular views of Nevis Range were just awesome. We quickly discovered how idyllic the 400-acre estate would be for those seeking a self-catering holiday in the Scottish Highlands. So we set about tastefully restoring the farmhouse, a property dating back to 1859”.

Set in a rural location, the estate boasts an ancient woodland and is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). The farmhouse, cottages and log cabins are children friendly, ideal for families and those with an adventurous spirit looking to explore nearby Ben Nevis and Fort William, as well as a host of other places. These locations are easily accessible from the estate.

The indoor hot tub in the farmhouse is a most welcome extra that is loved by our guests.

For those in a wheelchair the ground floor (including a bedroom) can be re-arranged so that the user has total accessibility. Please phone for more information on this matter.

Tim & Wendy Sims look forward to welcoming you to their Scottish retreat and hope you fall in love with it as they have!

You can follow the latest news and how things are going in the estate on our Facebook, Instagram or Twitter Page.

About our Highland Estate

The estate has tracks for off road biking or walking, it has woodlands for roaming and lochans to watch the ducks in their natural habitat, maybe you could enjoy a picnic here, or even have a BBQ. All the time you can feel the calmness with a chance of seeing the deer standing looking at you from afar. In the summer the silver birch look so elegant gently swaying like a pendulum as they show off their thin branches supporting their almost round leaves. Autumn time at Achaderry Estate is beautiful, with all of the shades of colour associated with this time of year.

Your Safety and Covid 19 What we are doing to make your visit safe and enjoyable

Our Covid 19 update

We are very conscious that we are beginning to walk away from the coronavirus.
In order to minimise our guests contact with the virus we have (in line with the government recommendations), stuck rigidly to the ‘sector guidance for tourism and hospitality’ – checklist.

  • Each property is fogged with anti virus disinfectant before and after we clean it.
  • Each property will be deep cleaned on the day of departure.
  • All hard surfaces used by our guests including door handles, taps etc. will be sprayed with antiviral Covid 19 spray on our leaving the cleaned property.
  • Hand sanitiser will be provided for each property.
  • We will talk over procedures with each guest on their arrival.

Don’t just take our word for it

What an amazing house!! We felt really at home and comfortable during our week here at Achaderry. The hot tub was so relaxing with spectacular views over the mountains. Everyone enjoyed the Sky TV and open log fire. We enjoyed the outside space too, watching the stars at night and soaking up the sunshine. The bed was so warm and cosy. A good time has been had by all!! Thank you.

Achaderry house is a wonderful place. We have all really enjoyed our holiday here. It is in a great location with fabulous views. The lochan and viewpoint are really lovely. The house itself is warm, comfortable and really cosy. We loved the Aga, fab to wake up to a warm kitchen in the mornings! And great for cooking. The house is really well equipped and laid out. The hot tub is marvellous especially when it’s cold outside! We are so happy with our holiday.

I would like to call our holiday accommodation, our little place of paradise. At least this is how we felt staying here. It was like moving to a new home, equipped with all the little things household needs, we just had to bring our food. The place is peaceful and if you come from a place like London, here is paradise. Thanks Tim and Wendy for sharing your little paradise with us.

Absolutely adored this little corner of heaven. Would not hesitate in recommending or re-booking

The estate has so much to offer with the walks and large pond with a picnic bench in a stunning location. It's so peaceful and just what we needed.
